Breathing

Just stopping in to post some bridal shower favor/centerpiece examples I put together. I've had fun putting together the paper flowers. I like the classic combination of Navy Blue, Cream and Gold. The cones will be filled with candy. I like the double duty favor and centerpiece combo these provide. Since this is just the prototype I'll share the finished version soon! 

On another note, the interview went well. Fingers crossed! They said I should know within 5-10 days. Keeping my eyes open for any other opportunities, in the meantime. Sometimes it's hard to not get overwhelmed by all the obstacles that keep popping up in life (lay-offs,deaths,house dreams not coming true, stress, miscarriage) but I'm just trying to plug along and not get too weighed down with it all.

I love the simplicity of using a brown paper lunch bag and turning it into a beautiful favor for a party, holiday or just because. And they're cheap! Who doesn't like that?! 


I have an interview Friday so I'm mentally preparing for that (yes it takes me three days to mentally prepare- don't judge) Usually interviews turn me into a nervous wreck,and I'm not expecting this one to be any different. Fingers crossed! In the meantime I'm going to be practicing making some paper flowers from a Paper Source Kit, I'll share if they turn out well! 

Candy Craving: Salty Licorice

Candy Craving is a new feature here at Sugar Fox Candy where I will feature a different type of candy.Maybe some you've never even seen.Yum! 

I'm a fan of black licorice. A big fan. I've been wanting to try some salty licorice from Holland. I've heard that salty licorice is an acquired taste. I'm up for the challenge!Apparently it's all the rage in Nordic countries. So let's get nordic up in here!

Setbacks

You know when you get like super really excited about doing something and then something stops it from happening. Yeah that sucks. Some of our exciting projects are on hold for now. Sad face. But I was thinking how this opens up a ton of time for other exciting things!

The end of 2011 really sucker- punched me, I got laid off from my job right when we were about to close on the house of our dreams. I was trying to think of a way that I could support myself without having to go back to the 9-5 grind, but alas the grind wins. This time. 

I can't wait to bring more features to my little blog here and use it as a creative outlet, and maybe on occasion an emotional one.  In the meantime heres a few things I've been obsessing over lately:

These hair tutorials. Super easy and she does makeup ones too! 

This lovely cookbook. I will bake everything in it.oh yes I will.
